"Gangster Squad" wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I also didn't have very high expectations. "Gangster Squad" did look very good with the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The acting was also very good with Sean Penn (Mickey Cohen), Ryan Gosling (Sgt. Jerry Wooters), Josh Brolin (Sgt. John O'Mara, and Emma Stone (Grace Faraday). Now the screenplay wasn't very good, like the dialogue was kind of stupid sometimes, and every once in a while the gun mussel flares didn't look very good. Now the explosions looked pretty realistic ,but just the mussel flares didn't match up with the actually gun shots. This movie overall isn't bad, but it isn't amazing either, so it's just an OK film.
